Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy explains what data Marginal Gains collects, why, and how you can control or delete it. We keep this simple because the product is simple: it tracks the habits you choose to track.
What we collect
- Account info: if you create an account, we store your email address, display name, and an optional profile picture, via our authentication provider (Supabase).
- Habit data: the habits you add, your daily completions, streaks, XP, and badges. If you use the app as a guest, this is stored only in your browser’s local storage and never sent to us. If you sign in, it’s synced to our database so it’s available across devices.
- Group data: if you create or join a group, other members can see your display name, streak, and completion counts.
- Usage analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage (which pages are visited, which features are used). This sets standard analytics cookies.
What we don’t do
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- We do not share your habit data with advertisers.
- We do not require payment information — the product is free.
Your controls
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings inside the app. This permanently removes your habits, completions, gamification history, and any groups you own. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
If you use the app as a guest without an account, your data lives only in your browser’s local storage — clearing your browser data removes it entirely, since nothing was ever sent to us.
Data storage
Signed-in account data is stored with Supabase, our database and authentication provider, which applies row-level security so only you (and, for group-scoped fields, your group members) can access your data.
